I was looking for pictures of behelits on Google to mock Jana’s Viennese Opera Ball-earring with, and stumbled onto this treasure: a photography blog of anime figurines. Awesome.

Take one part taxicab, two parts Canon digital camera (ehh, would have been more exciting if it were an SLR), and a family of doo-gooders, and you have the recipe for a great read.
Facebook Apps on Any Website: Clever, Kinda.. →
I thought this was a pretty sweet idea at first, then realized I don’t really use any Facebook apps that would have obvious value outside the network. Top Friends? Ok.. maybe a cooler blogroll. Graffiti? No. Scrabulous? Mayyyybe.

I heard there’s no 1.1.3 update yet for Customize and Summerboard though, so yeah, I think holding off might be the best move.

[Kotaku] EA Customer Service So Awful, So Awesome →
Moderately interesting story. The awesome part really, however, is this quote from the EA supervisor near the end of the story:“You are going to be so happy with me,” she teased. I can very seriously see that line becoming a meme immortalized on t-shirts, cereal boxes, and pretty much everything and everywhere imaginable.

An excellent P2P program that scours Gnutella. The only downside is that there are a LOT of fakes for rarer items. Meh.

[Last.fm] Free On-Demand Listening... Now! →
One of my favorite web2.0 services, Last.fm, has decided to offer free streaming of full-length tracks and albums. A brilliant move, in my opinion, especially given the direction NetFlix and Apple’s iTunes Store are taking with their treatment of movies. Their monetization plan:We’re not printing money to pay for this—but the business model is simple enough: we are paying artists and labels...

Hmm… worked for Farmer’s Insurance! Although, afterward, they forwarded me to Customer Service and I had to suffer on hold for half an hour before landing a rep. Sigh… I guess it’s the small victories that count.
Revision 3 just released a new Digg-themed show called “The Digg Reel.” I really can’t see this being more entertaining than even the worst episodes of Diggnation where Kevin and Alex blather on drunkenly, spill lots of beer and drop cats.

WeGame: YouTube for Gamers →
I remember the good old days of downloading GotFrag CS demos and such things for entertainment. I also remember wishing I didn’t have to open up the game just to watch it. Recording was also a pain due to resource slowdowns making fluid gameplay nigh impossible. In other words, I can’t wait to see how this turns out.
[Kotaku] jPod: The TV Series →
Awesome! Douglas’ Coupland’s novel “jPod” has been ported to a TV series and is set to air on CBC in Canada. I loved the book, and while I have no doubt they’re going to seriously fubar the conversion, I’m still looking forward to it. By the way, where’s that “Snow Crash” movie-port I’ve been waiting for?! Update: It’s really poorly...
I'm (possibly) going to develop an iPhone/iPod...
Completely on a whim, after trying to figure out what spices to use in my chicken soup, I’ve decided to create an iPhone/iPod Touch app that will determine what spices you should use based on what you have, and what type of dish you are making. I don’t know how specific it will get, especially since I’m a mediocre cook at best, but it seems like a worthwhile venture. I think...
